Oh, yeah--there's that transparency we were promised
You long-time readers of my journal know I have written very rarely about politics. That is, after all, one of the fastest ways around to cause un-friending. But this...this has to be said. And if you own a home, you will definitely want to know about this.
I had dinner over at my parents' house this evening. Before dinner, Dad was flipping around and landed on C-SPAN. And found out that, at 3:00 this morning, the Democrats dumped a 300-page amendment on the 1200-page Energy Bill, and said, "You will vote on this today."
At the time Dad tuned in, a Republican from Ohio was going through the amendment, bringing up all that was...let's say, less than optimal. One big thing brought up while Dad was watching?
Under this amendment, you will not be able to sell your home until it has been deemed, by federal government standards, sufficiently energy-efficient.
Oy insert-the-epithet-of-your-choice vey.
For those who don't want to read politics, I'll post something hopefully cheerier tomorrow or early Sunday, before I leave to go up north for the family reunion.
